PLM/PDM Architect (w/m)*

The PLM/PDM architect must have a solid understanding of the PLM/PDM concepts, practices and technologies as well as of the business processes enabled by corresponding systems. The architect takes business objectives and translates them into the corresponding product technologies to enable the objectives. We expect deep knowledge on a general architecture level and in at least one specific and in the automotive industry common product like PTC Windchill, TeamCenter or ENOVIA.

 In general, the PLM/PDM architect must understand:

  • Computer Aided Drafting (CAD)
  • Computer Aided Modeling (CAM)
  • Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAM)
  • Computer Aided Engineering (CAE)
  • Imbedded Software Development
  • Assembly management
  • Part creation and management
  • Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP)
  • Enterprise interfaces
  • Part creation and management
  • Bill of Materials structures
  • Workflow Processes
  • Release to Manufacturing
  • Change Management
  • Product Structure
  • Network architecture

Tasks and Accountability

  • Work with the project manager to develop a deployment strategy and roadmap
  • Develop an information architecture to enable the business goals
  • Together with a requirements analyst, capture and document user requirements
  • Ensure the systems are installed per the vendor standards
  • Ensure the hardware architecture supports the performance goals of the client
  • Ensure system is configured correctly based on the business system & process requirements
  • Together with the team assist with planning and executing data migration and upgrades
  • Analyze any issues during installation & configuration and solve them to complete the tasks
  • Stay abreast of PLM/PDM technologies and ensure that the PLM/PDM architecture has a path forward
  • Develop the CAD interface methods
  • Ensure PLM/PDM enables and enhances the change management processes
  • Ensure PLM/PDM enables other business processes and standards
  • Develop the product structure methodologies
  • Assess the network architecture to ensure performance specifications are met

Skills Required

  • PLM/PDM solutions in general and and in at least one specific and in the automotive industry common product
  • CAD Data Management, Change Management, BOM/Part Management, ESI Integration, Part Classifications, Product Analytics, etc.
  • Data modeling
  • Able to organize tasks, keep schedule and complete tasks in time, always with quality
  • Use Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Project and Visio
  • Good communication skills - fluent in English and able to handle customer discussions independently
  • PLM/PDM Certification – highly desirable
  • Good aptitude to work as team player

Experience Required

  • Bachelor of Science or Master of Science degree in Engineering or Information Technology
  • Minimum 4 years experience as a PLM solution architect
  • Minimum 2 years experience as an architect for the dedicated PLM/PDM system
